While visiting Udaipur is on every traveller’s bucket list, can you make the most of it in 2 days as a solo traveller? Well, yes. You can.
Here’s what I did on my two-day stay in Udaipur. If you visit during peak season in winter or early summer, it might be a bit crowded. But if you visit off-season, you can leisurely walk the quaint streets around Lake Pichola and soak in the charm of the old city of Udaipur.
What are the things that you need to remember if you are solo travelling to Udaipur or are a chill traveller like me? Let’s dive right into the itinerary.
2-day Udaipur Guide
Day 1

Arrive in Udaipur early morning or afternoon. Would not recommend reaching Udaipur late in the evening as you will miss out on some “dhaasu sunset” in the mesmerizing City of Lakes!
If you are catching the train to reach Udaipur, you can easily get a Rickshaw outside of the station. But, if you can take a flight to Udaipur please opt for a pre-paid taxi.
I made the terrible mistake of relying on Uber and had to wait at the airport for a long time! Plus, you might have to pay more just to get to your destination with an Uber ride.
Evening Exploring:
Check in to your hotel, and head over to Gangaur Ghat to start exploring the majestic ghats and pretty lake-side cafes! At Gangaur Ghat you can also catch the Rajasthani folk dance show at Bagore Ki Haweli in the evening.

You can catch the sunset from Gangaur Ghat or walk through the tiny gate located at the right side of the entrance and walk through the old city lanes! If you end up at Lake Pichola late evening like I did, you can soak in this view of the calming lakeside that is surrounded by sparkling Homestays and cafes.
For dinner, you can enjoy Dal Bati Churma at the popular Hari Ghar Restaurant and enjoy the amazing lake-side seating with your loved ones! 😋
End the day with desserts or a strong coffee at Nothing Before Coffee (NBC), near Lake Pichola.
Day 2
Start your day early at around 8 am or 9 am and head over to City Palace. You can easily spend 2-3 hours being mesmerized by the narrow passages, giant doorways and brightly lit hallways of this historic monument.

You can either take a guide or walk through the monument. The monument is well-maintained and has all the necessary information written on cue cards. But if you want to know some hidden facts, definitely consider taking a tour guide. Luckily, I had my friend as my tour guide to tell me all the fun facts about the palace.

As for lunch, you can opt for a lakeside restaurant, because why not make the most of the views?
Me and my friend headed over to Vernadah by the Lake for lunch. I really like the food and the quantity was really good for 2 people and the pricing was decent. If you are around Lake Pichola, you need to visit this restaurant. Situated in the narrow lanes, it can be a bit tricky to get to the location.
In the evening, you headover to Fatesagar for a beautiful sunset. You can either go boating or simply sit around and sip some hot kulhadi chai or coffee. Whatever you wish to do, you are sure to have a great time! 🌅

At Fatesagar, I would recommend heading over to Payal fast food centre for Kulhadi Coffee, or to try the super tasty cold coffee!
Stay options:

Udaipur is a great place to explore as most sightseeing locations are nearby. I had booked my stay at Zostel near Lake Pichola. It was a great choice because Gangaur Ghat, lakeside cafes, and Jagdish temple were nearby at walking distance.
If you are not a fan of walking while visiting new places, you can take the local rickshaw too!
Final Takeaway
So, there you have a 2-day itinerary that isn’t too packed yet makes sure you cover all the major locations. But if you still want to visit more places in your 2 days trip to Udaipur definitely go for a morning hike to Karnimata Temple and visit Sajangad.

And, if you are an easy traveller like me, I think you’ll like visiting the above-mentioned places and making the most of your time there. ☺️
