While traveling to Delhi this time, there were 2 things that I was sure I wanted to cover. First was catching a sunset at Humayun’s Tomb and visiting Gurudwara Bangla Sahib.
I wanted to visit Humayun’s Tomb because as a History and movies buff, it’s been on the list of places I want to visit for a really long time. So, now that I was going to Delhi I was like, why not? There was no set itinerary or plans.
However, the biggest advantage was that I was staying at my friend’s place so there were no inhibitions or formality to do something for the sake of it.

An early morning flight from Bombay to Delhi, a chilled-out lunch, and a nap at my dear friend’s house (because I was running on 2 hours of sleep) later we were at Humayun’s Tomb to watch the sunset in the Delhi winter. While photos and reels make it look good, it is much prettier in person.
After the sunset in literally 5 minutes, we headed down and took a walk around the historical monument. And one thing that hit me was, standing there in front of that spectacular monument, I realized I am a tiny spec of dust in this vast Universe.
Breathe. Let go.
Trust into the free fall, because nothing is that serious. Quite literally!💃
The next stop was Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. One of the easiest ways to get to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib or any other monuments around India Gate would be to take the local Auto.
(Yes, we checked online transport services and the charges were higher.)

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib does have something magical about itself. Right from the moment you enter the sacred Gurudwara, you can feel the energy. Luckily my friend didn’t just tell me why I should cover to my head, but explained why it’s important and I wanted to respect that. Had she plainly told me to do that, I would have still done it. But having her explain the importance made it more meaningful.
Once we were inside we realized that we would have to wait till the evening prayer was completed. Serendipity was at its play. And the Universe was sure of making it happen. ✨
During such moments something inside you shifts. Maybe not for everyone, but if you believe in God and have had a few moments where you knew you couldn’t ask anyone else for help but Him, you would understand. And I am grateful that I was not visiting that place alone, but with a close friend of mine. 😌
(Sorry no pictures from Gurudwara Bangla Sabhib , respecting the sanctity of the religious place takes a higher priority for me.)
Once we said our prayers and gratitude, we headed to Diggin in Delhi NCR. One thing I would say about the cafe is its food quality, quantity, and pricing were something I wasn’t expecting. Great food, the quantity is easily enough for 2 people, and great pricing.

The menu options and decor will remind you of Mediterranean and European cafes but situated right at the center of India.
After devouring the delicious food, we ended our day by gazing at the moon and headed home with happy hearts and peaceful minds. ☺️
I was there only for one weekend, barely 48 hours. But knowing that I didn’t have to tick all the places from my sightseeing list because I have a friend, who’s family literally treated me like thier own makes you feel at peace and ease. Probably more than any well-planned itineary can. ❤️
